Whitney Houston's 'Bodyguard' co-star Kevin Costner: 'I really hope Bobbi Kristina okay'
Kevin Costner “can’t imagine” what Bobbi Kristina’s family is going through after she was hospitalised on Saturday.
The 21-year-old was found unconscious in a bathtub by husband Nick Gordon. She is currently in a medically induced coma and fighting for her life in hospital. The incident is freakishly similar to how her mother Whitney Houston died nearly three years ago and Kevin, who worked with the singer on The Bodyguard, couldn’t help but feel concerned for his late friend’s child.
“I was sad, obviously. That family's under a lot of stress right now, just an enormous amount of stress,” he told People magazine before shaking his head in disbelief. “I can't imagine, I really hope she's okay.”
The 60-year-old admitted that he hadn’t spoken to Bobbi “in a little while” but she was at the forefront of his thoughts at the moment.
Kevin remained a good friend of Whitney’s after they worked together on the smash hit 1992 film. The star delivered a moving speech at the I Look to You singer’s funeral and spoke fondly of her during a chat with Ellen DeGeneres last year.
“You know my son was actually having his birthday party and someone came up and told me,” he recalled. “My friend was videotaping the party and I said come down to the back of the house and I don’t know why I did this I said just put the camera on and I started talking to him about her. And then I was done, I was literally done. I talked about her for 10/15 minutes. Where did she go? Where did she go? She was our little songbird.”
