They've just celebrated ten years together, but it has not always been easy for Rosanna Davison and husband Wes Quirke.

The pair got hitched in Ibiza in 2014 after eight years of dating and recently marked a decade together.

However, the former Miss World (32) admitted the couple have had their rocky patches along the way - and even broke up a few times.

The Wicklow woman has been enjoying a romantic trip to Italy with her other half, where they took in scenic Venice.

"It's hard work. I won't deny that," Rosanna told the Diary. "We have definitely had our few blips along the way, a break up here and there."

The blonde model reckons the most important thing in keeping a relationship strong is making time for each other no matter how busy your lives get.

"If you keep on persevering and you really love each other, it's worth fighting for, as cheesy as that sounds," she said. "We make the time to chat to each other and have our date nights and spend time together. Some relationships naturally run their course.

"I think it's really important to still fancy the person, you have to have a bit of spark there as well."

Wes went all-out on the day of their anniversary and had a sweet surprise waiting for Rosanna when she arrived home. "He really went overboard with being romantic which is really sweet. He's really thoughtful," Rosanna said.

He asked me to be home at 1.30pm and every half hour he had a florist deliver a massive bunch of flowers," she said.

"I was delighted. It can be easy to get into a pattern of not being romantic in a long term relationship but he very much proved that he is still romantic."

The author admitted she may need to up her game for their next anniversary after witnessing her husband's romantic display.

"I kind of felt like I didn't put any effort into it. He took it very seriously," she said.

"We went to Venice as well for a few days because it was his birthday last weekend and I was working, it's a joint birthday/anniversary."

Speaking at the launch of the Huawei Snapy awards which take place at Dublin's Mansion House on November 17, the model discussed her new book Eat Yourself Fit.

"It's been out for about two weeks. The last I saw it was number four in the charts. I'm delighted with that," she said. "It's the top book for the publisher Gill Books at the moment.

"To be anywhere in the top 5 is amazing, considering the amount of books that are out at the minute."
