TV3 presenter Anna Daly has a straightforward approach to handling unwanted advice on pregnancy.
The Saturday and Sunday AM presenter is due her third child in October and is enjoying a "happy and healthy" pregnancy but says she "tunes out" any unsolicited pregnancy advice.
"I was probably more attuned to all the pregnancy advice the first time around. You're very susceptible to what everyone says," she told Independent.ie
"I don't encourage it, I just get on with things. Everyone has their own take on pregnancy, it's so different for every woman.
"I don't seem to get a whole lot [of advice] and maybe it's because I've done it twice before so I should know what I'm doing by this stage... not that you ever really know. [Pregnancy] is a tricky business.
The presenter, who is mum to James (4) and Euan (2) with businessman partner, Ben Ward, said the couple have decided not to tell their sons that Anna is pregnant until it's "blatantly obvious".
"We haven't said it to them and we're not going to say it to them until it's really blatantly obvious. I appreciate it's obvious to any adult but I'd need to be really gigantic for them to notice.
"Timescales in their world is so different. A week before Christmas felt like a month for them so I would hate for this pregnancy to seem like it was going on forever if they're asking me 50 times a day when the baby is coming."
She added that she might consider finding out the sex of the baby so she can prepare herself for a possible baby girl.
“I never did with the first two but I feel like the house and our world is built for boys and it would be easy if a third boy came long.
“I would be really thrown if a girl came along so maybe at the big scan, we’ll find out. It’s very exciting.”
Anna was speaking at the launch of the new Mothercare family card app in Stephen’s Green shopping centre.
