Three people were arrested outside Taylor Swift's home after they accosted security guards at the singer's property, police in the US have said.

Authorities said the trio were charged with misdemeanour breach of peace after they threw beer bottles and shouted expletives at the guards outside Taylor's beachfront home in Rhode Island.

The 24-year-old Red singer wasn't at the house at the time.

The Westerly Sun reported that police arrested 29-year-old Michael Horrigan, his 28-year-old roommate Tristan Kading and 26-year-old Emily Kading, who are all Connecticut residents. They were released on promises to appear in court.

Police have made two trespassing arrests on Taylor's property in the past year.
