Remember Crazy/Beautiful?

During the peak teen rom/com era of the late '90s and early noughties, one film stood out from the cliched stores of its time.

Jay Hernandez played Carlos, a staight-A student from an underprivileged background who jeopardises his future when he falls in love with teen movie 'it' girl Kirsten Dunst.

She played troubled Nicole Oakley, a wealthy girl with an addiction problem and the two Romeo & Julieted their way through East L.A.

On reflection, the movie wasn't great at all. But I was 14, it was 2001 and it filled the void left by Bring It On.

Hernandez became a cult movie star thanks to 2005 film Hostel and has stayed busy with guest roles on Nashville and The Expanse in recent years.

But 2016 is shaping up to be his year - he's in Suicide Squad, the critically panned but most-talked-about blockbuster of the summer. And he also features in Bad Moms with Mila Kunis and Kristen Bell.

Oh, and he's gorgeous.
