Let's hear it for the Netherlands.

King Willem-Alexander and his wife Queen Máxima (46) have touched down in Italy, where they will meet Pope Francis at The Vatican this week, but they're not resting on their laurels in the City of Love.

The mother-of-three, originally from Argentina, injected some glamour as she braved the soaring temperatures in a long sleeve lace pink midi dress by Natan, run by Belgian designer Édouard Vermeulen and matching wide brim hat.

And both were beaming as they happily posed for pictures outside Rome City Hall, just weeks after Willem-Alexander marked his 50th birthday with a lavish celebration in The Hague.

The royal pair will embark on a four-day state visit to the Vatican and are scheduled to explore some of the sights and sounds of Rome and are absolutely beaming as they explore the city together.
