Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington says she cried when she saw the new ski ramp she has to tackle as part of Channel 4's The Jump.
Adlington, who won two gold medals at the 2008 Olympics, is one of this year's 12 celebrity contestants who have to brave the new jump.
Filmed in Austria, the show will see the famous faces compete every week in a range of ski-related activities. The two celebrities with the lowest score from each episode must brave a dreaded ski jump to stay in the competition.
This year they will face a new jump that has taken three months to build and is the height of three double-decker buses.
Adlington said seeing the jump " totally freaked me out".
She added: "I'm proud of how far I've come and the things I've already overcome so I'm excited and nervous to take on the jump. I definitely won't be bottling it and I think everyone here is up for the challenge."
This year's line-up also includes The Only Way Is Essex's James Argent, gymnast Beth Tweddle and US actor Dean Cain, best known for playing Superman in the hit TV series.
Argent said he was not sure he would be a "natural jumper" but vowed to try his best and not give up.
Tweddle, whose gymnastic speciality was the uneven bars, is no stranger to heights and said that sitting on top of the jump "seemed okay", but admitted that once she put skis on it "could be a completely different matter".
Actor Cain quipped: " Flying seems much more dangerous without my special effects crew!"
Girls Aloud's Sarah Harding also joins the contestants, and said: "The only person I can think of that has been quite vocal about not doing the jump so far is Linford (Christie). He's starting to finally enjoy skiing now though so I'm sure once his confidence levels get better he will maybe feel a little less like that."
Davina McCall will present the series which has a new weekly format instead of being shown daily.
The coaches training the stars are skeleton racing champion Lizzy Yarnold and Olympic skier Graham Bell.
Last year's show was won by TOWIE star Joey Essex, who said his advice to the new contestants was to make sure they look good.
In a video promoting the series he said: "A lot of people don't understand about looking good... if you look good you do better in life."
:: The Jump returns to Channel 4 on Sunday January 31 at 7.30pm.
