There was only one person that star footballer Abby Wambach wanted to celebrate with - her wife of two years, Sarah Huffman.

The 35-year-old athlete was a part of the US team that emerged victorious over Japan in the World Cup final yesterday in a memorable game held in Vancouver.

When the whistle blew, the two-time Olympic Gold medalist ran to the crowd to embrace her wife of almost-two years, Sarah Huffman.

Star forward Wambach, who won the 2012 FIFA World Player of the Year, recently revealed that this World Cup would be her last.
