The 70-year-old, who is set to release a new solo album titled In The Know next month, will make his Strictly debut as a singer on October 2.

Strictly Come Dancing tweeted that viewers could expect "Sunday night fever".

Gibb rose to fame as one of the Bee Gees alongside his brothers Robin and Maurice. Their hit songs include Stayin' Alive, Night Fever and You Should Be Dancing.

Olly Murs and Rebecca Ferguson performed at the launch show, which saw the celebrities paired with their dancing partners, earlier this month.

After intensive training, the celebrities will soon compete for the first time.

Contestants include singer Anastacia, BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty, ex-shadow chancellor Ed Balls, former Hollyoaks actor Danny Mac, former Eternal member Louise Redknapp, singer Will Young, TV presenter Laura Whitmore, model Daisy Lowe and sports broadcaster Ore Oduba.
