Strictly Come Dancing star Anthony Ogogo revealed he was worried his trousers might split all way to the front after a rip appeared over his backside on Friday night's show.

The wardrobe malfunction happened halfway through his lively jive to Wham's Wake Me Up Before You Go Go, but the boxer and his partner Oti Mabuse danced on to the very end.

Speaking for the first time since the incident, he joked: "No one wants to see that!"

Talking to Zoe Ball on It Takes Two, he said: "You know, it happened really early, and I thought, 'Oh dear God! Do I just carry on?' I carried on."

"The big one happened, like, half-way through. At that point in the dance, we looked at each other, face-to-face. My eyes were like this (makes a huge-eyed face) - like a deer in the headlights!"

Ogogo revealed to Ball that he had to do a quick change near the end of his performance to avoid baring all.

"At the very end, we did this thing where I was going to go, 'down-down-down'," he explained, "If you go back and watch, I just go 'down'. What I was really worried about was the (split at the) back going to the front. No one wants to see that!"

He also said judge Craig Revel Horwood's comments about him being the best boxer they had had on the show so far were "very nice".

"Thing is, Audley Harrison and Joe Calzaghe, they're two good friends of mine. I think they're both... (well) neither of them are quite (at) Patrick Swayze's level!" he said.

He went on to clarify his comments, adding: "(That) was kind of a back-handed compliment. Yeah, you know, (dancing on the first show) was nice. It was really weird to actually watch (it) back; to watch (myself) on Strictly Come Dancing doing a real dance - it's mad!"

Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two airs on weekdays at 6.30pm on BBC Two.
