A group of child cancer sufferers has gathered with celebrities for a party to celebrate their bravery in fighting the terrible disease.
Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins, former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, 2014 X-Factor finalists Only The Young and television presenter Matt Johnson joined youngsters and their families for the Cancer Research UK Kids and Teens Star Awards.
The children, some current patients and some survivors, were guests of honour at the event at the Roof Gardens in Kensington, as special ambassadors on behalf of the 620 children who received awards from the charity this year.
They enjoyed a lunchtime of games and entertainment at the central London venue.
Mary Dafter, 11, from Newcastle, attended with father Chris, 31, mother Emma, 30, sister Carrie, seven and brother Chris, four.
Her father told how she'd battled against the rare bone cancer Ewing's sarcoma, which included multiple surgery and being off school for nine months. But she is now in remission and back with friends attending Atkinson Road Primary Academy in Newcastle.
Mr Dafter said that after having to have a feeding tube fitted during her time in hospital, she had gone on to help reassure younger children who had been scared about having the invasive procedure.
"She was an inspiration for a lot of the children, she really did help the whole ward with their treatment," he said.
"She has done the treatment with a smile on her face no matter how much pain she has been in."
He joked that one of his favourite things about her recovery was the fact that she had become a "stroppy" young girl after returning to school.
"When she went into hospital she went back to being daddy's little girl," he said.
"Now she's gone back the other way, it's lovely to see."
Hawkins, 39, who gave birth to daughter Ella Rose in February, tweeted that it was "Lovely to be here", while Wyatt posted a picture of the party, writing : "Having a bit of fun with the kids at the CRUK Kids And Teens awards!"
