It’s a well known fact that Christmas Day and Easter Sunday give particular meaning to wearing the Sunday best and Spain’s Royal Family did not disappoint at mass this morning.
King Felipe, Queen Letizia and their daughters Princesses Sofia and Leonor attended Easter Sunday mass on the Spanish island of Mallorca earlier today.
The handsome king and his family, including his mum Queen Sofia , were the epitome of Spring style as he donned a expertly tailored navy suit and lightly striped blue shirt which paired well with his salt and pepper manicured beard.
Princess Sofia was perhaps the most appropriately dressed wearing a lilac-hued dress and cardi embroidered with delicate lace while her sister wore a grey skirt and a little white jacket.
Contrary to Britain’s Queen Elizabeth, who also attended an Easter service earlier today, King Felipe’s wife Queen Letizia wore a beautiful fitted suit without a hat in sight.
Queen Sofia also took a casual approach to the Easter celebrations posing in photos with her son and grandchildren in Palma.
The Spanish Royals offered a breath of fresh air in their casual approach to the Easter celebrations especially in comparison to Princess Beatrice, The Queen and Lady Louise Windsor who all wore over the top outfits complete with the usual elaborate hats.
The stream of royals joined the Queen and Prince Phillip for the annual Easter Sunday service in Windsor Castle this afternoon.
Notably absent were the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as Kate Middleton began her maternity leave last week.
The couple are preparing for the arrival of the royal baby, rumoured to be a girl, on April 25.
