Solange makes first public appearance since 'lift-gate' at fashion event with Rachel Roy

Solange Knowles made her first public appearance since a video of her infamous fight with Jay-Z was leaked.

The singer, who is the little sister of Beyonce, was seen kicking and punching her brother-in-law in the lift after the trio attended the exclusive Met Gala last month.

And while the family have yet to publicly reveal the cause for the fight, the rumour mill has been in overdrive. It was also reported that she had exchanged words with designer Rachel Roy, a former friend of hers.

The stylish pair both attended last night's CDFA Fashion Awards in New York last night with Roy bringing model pal Chrissy Teigen as her date.

US Weekly reports that the two women went out of their way to avoid each other at the star studded bash in New York’s Lincoln Center.

Solange (27) made headlines around the world in May when CCTV footage was leaked showing her lashing out at her brother-in-law Jay Z.

The singer had reportedly had a public spat with fashion designer Rachel moments earlier at the after party they were attending.

At the Awards last night, former friends Rachel and Solange kept their distance.

A source told US Weekly that Rachel looked uncomfortable as both parties avoided each other.

Following the lift altercation, Beyoncé and Jay Z announced that they were moving on from the incident, issuing a public statement which said: "At the end of the day families have problems and we're no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We've put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same."
