Sharon Shannon has revealed that she has found love with her late partner's brother.

The traditional musician was left heartbroken when her long-term partner Leo Healy passed away suddenly aged 46 in 2008.

Since Leo's passing, Sharon (48) grew close to his brother Jimmy as they both dealt with their grief.

"He's solid as a rock," she told the RTE Guide.

"Jimmy and Leo were very close and when Leo died, he was devastated.

"Jimmy was heartbroken as well and he helped me through a really tough time.

"I didn't really know Jimmy that well back then, but we became friends after Leo died."

The accordion player said that some people think their relationship is "weird," but that doesn't phase them.

"For ages, we were the best of friends and then we got to together. Now some people think that is weird, but it just seemed natural to us. He's a good man and very good for me."
