Shannen Doherty is praising her mother for helping her battle cancer.
The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star was diagnosed with breast cancer in February, 2015, and in May she underwent a single mastectomy.
Doctors subsequently discovered the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes and she is currently undergoing chemotherapy, with plans to follow up the treatment with radiation.
Shannen's mother, Rosa, has been supporting her through her difficult ordeal and the actress will be forever grateful.
"Sometimes there's nothing like a mother's love to help get you thru (sic)," she wrote on Instagram on Saturday. "Thank you mom for always being there and being so strong for me. I love you."
The 45-year-old has been documenting her battle on social media and she recently opened up about her decision to shave her head and start sporting a pink wig. She also explained her illness has helped bring her closer to husband Kurt Iswarienko.
Sharing a snap wearing the wig as she sat alongside her film producer spouse, Shannen wrote on her Instagram page: "He loves me with pink hair or no hair. I'm blessed to have such a strong support team starting with @kurtiswarienko who loves me more every second.
"Can't imagine my life without him. Cancer is not pleasant but it can bring out the best in relationships or the worse. Thankfully, it has made our marriage stronger. #f**kcancer."
I'm starting #totaltuesday and dedicating it to @sarahmgellar. Why? Because she's the total package. Smart, funny, beautiful and a great friend. She's that friend that is always there when you need her no matter what. Loyal and loving to the bone. I am blessed for many reasons and she's one of them. Love you SMG. #cancersucks #fightlikeagirl #friendshelpcancersuckalittleless
In the picture, which was posted as part of the international "F**k cancer" campaign earlier this month, both Shannen and Kurt raised their middle fingers, with Kurt playfully using his digit to poke his smiling wife on the nose.
She was fierce, she was strong, she wasn't simple. She was crazy and sometimes she barely slept. She always had something to say. She had flaws and that was ok. And when she was down, she got right back up. She was a beast in her own way, but one idea described her best. She was unstoppable and she took anything she wanted with a smile. R.M.
