On to the next.

TV presenter Ruth O'Neill was spotted for the first time since announcing she's quit TV3's Xpose just one year into the job. The former model, who first vied for a place on the flagship entertainment programme on 2009's Total Xposure, said she is living her "dream job" to pursue opportunities abroad.

The 29-year-old returned home to Ireland last year as part of a shake-up on the show which saw her and newcomer Cassie Stokes landing a coveted hosting spot. She had been living in Los Angeles since 2010.

O'Neill will remain in Ireland while she finishes her notice period with the broadcaster and looked to be back to business on Tuesday, mastering downtime chic in a pair of frayed skinny jeans, afloral blouse and vintage Louis Vuitton bucket bag.

The presenter said she struggled to settle back home and found it difficult to make new friends as many of hers have moved abroad in recent years.

"I've just found it so hard to settle at home. I think anyone who's lived abroad, whether it's Australia or the UK, will understand that it can be tough to adjust to life at home when you've been away for so long," she told independent.ie.

"All my friends live away and it's been difficult to meet new friends.

"We keep in touch on WhatsApp but it's not the same. It can be really lonely at times. I thought it would be grand but it wasn't as easy as I thought."

"I don't know what's going to happen and I'm a little bit nervous but I know I want to take the chance to try something new now."

Ruth hasn't made any concrete plans but is positive about her future prospects.

"We'll see what comes my way. My boyfriend lives in London and I'd be keen to try something there but I'm not ruling anything out.

"I'm in the last year of my twenties and I'm just thinking 'why not!', if I leave it any longer I might be too scared to move."

Debbie O’Donnell, series producer of Xposé, said: "Ruth has been a pleasure to work with, she has brought a great deal to the show in terms of her celebrity knowledge, fashion and beauty tips.

"We wish her the very best for the future and will be so sad to see her leave Xposé, she will be very much missed."
