Russell Brand and fiancée Laura Gallacher welcome baby girl who they will raise as 'gender neutral'
Comedian Russell Brand and his fiancée Laura Gallacher have welcomed a baby girl, who they will raise as 'gender neutral.'
Gallacher (27) gave birth at the weekend and, after remaining tight-lipped about the baby's sex, it has been revealed that they welcomed a girl, reports the Mail Online.
"We don’t know the gender," Brand (41) told Jonathan Ross ahead of the birth.
"I may not even ever impose a gender upon it, let the child grow up and be whatever the hell it is."
Brand, who was previously married to singer Katy Perry, reportedly announced on stage on Sunday that he had become a dad for the first time.
“He was conscious of the clock and made sure he was off stage by just approaching 9pm as he ‘needed to get down the f***ing M21 as my girlfriend has just had a baby,'” a fan told The Mirror.
Brand and Gallacher, sister to Sky Sports presenter Kirsty Gallacher, have been in a relationship since last year after having dated on and off since 2007 and are said to have gotten engaged in June.
"I'm very excited about becoming a dad and I'm preparing myself. I am just getting ready to be with a new little person and see what it is they want," Brand told ES magazine in October.
"I feel lit up by the idea."
