Rugby star Peter Stringer and new wife Debbie jet off on exotic honeymoon
Newlyweds Peter Stringer and Debbie O'Leary looked loved-up as they jetted off on honeymoon to sunny Barbados.
The Irish rugby legend (37) tied the knot with his long term love in an intimate ceremony in Marbella, Spain, last week and now the pair have escaped to the Caribbean to continue their wedding celebrations.
It seems the couple have a soft spot for Barbados after former Munster star Peter popped the question there.
Last summer the scrum-half proposed to his PR and marketing executive other half at the luxury five-star beach resort Sandy Lane on the island.
Debbie announced she was "Barbados bound" with her new husband on Instagram as she shared a picture of the Cork couple enjoying the sunshine.
The happy couple, who have been together for over six years, said "I do" in the picturesque Nuestra Senora de la Encarnacion church in the Spanish city in front of family and friends last week.
Among the guests were Peter's former team-mates Paul O'Connell and Donncha O'Callaghan. Model Nadia Forde - whose mother passed away from cancer days before the Spanish nuptials - also jetted in to see best friend Debbie walk down the aisle.
Peter - who plays for English club Sale Sharks - looked dapper in a navy suit paired with a pink tie as he posed with his new wife, who was stunning in a strapless sweetheart gown.
Peter and Debbie have been based in Bath for the last two years and are preparing to move to Sale, where Stringer will play next year.
Last week proved to be a busy one for Irish rugby stars, as more of the country's top players lined out to watch winger Tommy Bowe tie the knot with his Welsh girlfriend Lucy Whitehouse (inset).
The pair, who have been dating since 2011, wed in a low-key ceremony in the nurse's home country.
