RTE's Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh says 'no thanks' to botox or fillers
RTE presenter Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh said she has no interest in undergoing cosmetic surgery.
The popular broadcaster, who features as the diarist for this week's Celebrity Diary in The Herald, said she went through a phase where she was tempted to go under the knife; but now her only vice is teeth bleaching.
"I went through a phase about a year-and-a-half ago where I found myself googling information on things such as fillers and Botox, but I've stopped that lately," she said.
"The only thing I'm doing is bleaching my teeth. When it comes to cosmetic surgery, it's a case of never say never, but you do have to be very careful. When it's done well, it's great, but if I lost the expression on my face, I'd be no good to anyone.
"Age is a great thing and as you get the older you don't worry as much about how you look. I don't mind looking good at 43, but you don't want to look older than you are."
Blathnaid explained that she believes Irish women in particular can wind up with a 'pinched' look on their faces due to stress.
"It's crazy the amount of amount now who don't get any more work because they've had work done and they lose their expressions," she added.
