Tantalising images of the former Miss World - including a barely concealed nipple shot and full nude in the shower have just been released and outdo even her famous Playboy centre spread.

But the truth behind the photographs is that the magazine spread started out fully clothed.

The model explained how the assignment for Social & Personal to accompany a piece she had written on achieving beauty through nutrition unfolded: "It was meant to be a fully-clothed shoot, but the photographer suggested a tasteful nude shot and I loved the idea.

"It felt right [in] the context of the shoot," she added, "It was all about going back to basics, being natural and feeling happy in your own skin.

But she explains the tone is a world away from the Playboy photos that hit news stands in 2014 and is more about vulnerability than sex appeal.

"The tone of the new shoot is very different to Playboy. It's not meant to be sexy or suggestive, it's about showing a more natural and vulnerable side to me."

The model also addressed online critics who hit out at stars like Kim Kardashian for bearing all on social media.

"I think it's important not to judge the decisions that others make and to let people get on with their own lives," she said. "People can be too pass-remarkable and body-shaming others is simply not acceptable. Live and let live is my attitude."

It may not be the last of nude shots for Rosanna as she sees no cut off point for stripping in the name of art.

"I admire women in their 40s and 50s who feel comfortable about posing how they choose, and I don't think age needs to dictate anything. It's really down to the context of the shoot and how you feel about it yourself.

She added: "I didn't consciously choose when to pose nude again, but I'm comfortable in my body and it felt right for the mood of the article. So who knows, I might do it again at some stage in the future."

Speaking about overcoming body shyness, Rosanna explained that she wasn't always as confident in her own skin:

"I used to be shy in my teens about showing my body to anyone and the thought of wearing a bikini would fill me with dread. But it's important to enjoy your body while it's healthy and young and not to be afraid of it or worry about how it looks to others. I look after myself well, so I'm confident in my body and far more so than when I was younger. I appreciate it more and I don't take it for granted or see it as an enemy."

Often seen dressed up in full hair and make up for work, she says the natural look is the real her.

"Doing this shoot with absolute minimal makeup was important for me, because I'm so often fully made up at other shoots and events. But I really love wearing little or no makeup when I'm not working, and the natural look can be so youthful.

"I used to be far more self conscious about how I look out in public, but I'm a lot more comfortable in myself now. Nobody is perfect and I think it's important to embrace what you have and make the most of it."

The exclusive shoot featuring Rosanna Davison appears in the April issue of Social & Personal, on sale now.
