Rory McIlroy soaks up the sun in Barbados with fiancée Erica Stoll
Rory McIlroy and fiancée Erica Stoll are making the most of their downtime on the beach in Barbados.
The Irish golfer (26) popped the question to American PGA employee (27) late last year after a year of dating and it looks like their romance is going from strength to strength ahead of their nuptials.
Erica and Rory are the latest Irish celebrities to take up residence at the five star Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados, frequented by international jet-setters, which recently attracted Irish rugby players Ian Madigan and Luke Fitzgerald.
Golf's most glamorous couple lived up to their moniker as Erica showed off her super toned figure in a floral bandeau bikini, oversized hat and a pair of Ray Ban Clubmaster sunglasses, while Rory opted for a pair of Wayfarers and striped board shorts.
Last month, Stoll was pictured cheering on her beau at the World Golf Championships-Dell Match Play at the Austin Country Club, but avoided photographers at the Masters in Augusta.
The couple have yet to set a date for their nuptials, but are expected to wed within the next 12 months after announcing their engagement in December. Rory was previously engaged to tennis player Caroline Wozniacki but famously ended their engagement days after their wedding invitations had been sent.
The former world number one praised his other half for keeping him grounded during a recent trip to Facebook's European headquarters in Dublin, saying: "Erica has been around me quite a lot at tournaments but we have really just tried to keep it low key.
"She is a very low key person, not the kind to broadcast stuff, but that side of my life is really good just now. We are excited, our parents are excited so it is a really happy time.
"For me, Erica brings such a level of normality to everything. She has a calming presence, a sereneness and that’s not just on me; it is noticeable in any company. She never wants to be the centre of attention and is always very comfortable in the background.
"She has been a great influence on me and has given such a great balance to my life - between who I am when people see me out here and who I am at home."
