Quickenden, 26, a former contestant on the X Factor, told Hello! Magazine: "I didn't go to Australia looking for a girlfriend.

"We only spent a little bit of time together at the after party, but of course she's a beautiful girl and I'm only human so I was attracted to her.

Danielle told the magazine she was attracted to Quickenden when she saw him on the show and sparks flew when they met even though he s melled of "bonfire and sweat and revolting Bushtucker Trial food".

Her father, a former World Superbike champion, said he approved of his daughter's choice.

He said: " I spent a lot of time getting to know Jake in the jungle. He wants to make something of himself and get somewhere with his music.

"He's not afraid of hard work and he's very motivated. I admire that about him."
