Prince Harry has never looked more royal than arriving to Ascot via carriage in a top hat

It's easy to forget he's a royal sometimes.

After years of partying in Vegas, a string of beautiful girlfriends and a generally envy-inducing lifestyle most men would kill for, we forget that Prince Harry is actually fifth in line to the British throne.

But not after his entrance at Royal Ascot on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old playboy prince arrived via carriage with Queen Elizabeth during the royal procession - all while wearing the required uniform of a four piece suit with tailcoat, a top hat.

While he, his brother Prince William and wife Kate Middleton all prepare for more of a central role in the royal fishbowl, the trio are fulfilling more official duties recently and leading their grandmother's 90th birthday celebrations around London.

“I think royal duty is extremely important. It’s part of the fabric of what the royal family and any future monarch has," the Duke of Camridge recently said.

“I take my responsibilities very seriously. But it’s about finding your own way at the right time and if you’re not careful duty can sort of weigh you down an awful lot at a very early age, and I think you’ve got to develop into the duty role.”

"And when the Queen decides she’s going to hand down more responsibilities, I’ll be the first person to accept them.”

There's still hope for Harry though and it's all down to that beard.
