Pippa Middleton told to 'shut up' by royal family after revealing interview
Pippa Middleton has angered the Royal Family, according to reports.
The Duchess of Cambridge’s younger sister gave her first tell-all interview to the Today show and it aired earlier this week. But the broadcast has reportedly left Buckingham Palace annoyed at the 30-year-old’s actions.
“They are furious with Pippa,” one aristocratic source told Radar Online. “They wish that she would shut-up. It is obvious that she wants to define her identify and step out of her sisters shadow, however she needs to know her place.”
There’s debate as to whether Palace officials knew about the sit down chat with host Matt Lauer beforehand or not. While the source says the family are “livid” that Pippa gave the interview behind their backs, other sources state that Clarence House, the home of Kate and husband Prince William, signed off on the interview, which is slightly different from Buckingham Palace, who speak on behalf of the Queen.
Radar also reports that Pippa wanted to conduct the televised chinwag around the same time as her book was released. The hardcover book, Celebrate: A Year of Festivities for Families and Friends, hit bookshelves in October last year, but the interview was put on the back-burner at that time.
“[She was] discouraged from doing it as it would appear she was using relationship with Kate to promote the book,” the source added.
In the Today segment, the brunette beauty revealed that she is still able to have a typical sisterly bond with Kate despite her joining the Royal Family.
“We have a very normal, sisterly relationship. We’re very close,” she said. “And, you know, we support each other and get each other’s opinions and things.”
