Pierce Brosnan explains knife incident: It was part of my art supply
Pierce Brosnan says the knife he was caught with at the airport was part of his art supply.
At the beginning of the month, Pierce was stopped was attempting to travel through Burlington International Airport in Vermont with his 14-year-old son Paris when he was stopped by Transport Security Administration (TSA) agents.
The staff were apparently concerned with the contents of his carry-on luggage following a routine screening.
However, following reports that it was a 10-inch hunting knife pierce was in possession of, Pierce has set the record straight.
“I don't think it was 10 inches of a knife,” Pierce told Extra at the premiere of his new film No Escape in Los Angeles on Monday night. “I'm a painter. I'm an artist, so I had my pencils. The knife just went into the bag, you want to keep your pencils sharpened.”
Pierce was accompanied by his handsome sons Sean, 31, Dylan, 18, and Paris at the premiere.
The boys’ mother is Pierce’s wife Keely Shaye Smith, who the actor has been married to for the past 14 years.
And Pierce added at the premiere that he and his spouse are happier than ever.
“We’ve been together 21 years… Keely and I are still going down the road and plotting and scheming,” he said.
“We like each other, we really like each other. We love each other, we know how to solve problems."
Pierce stars alongside Lake Bell and Owen Wilson in No Escape, which tells the story of an American couple trying to get out of Asia in the middle of a political uprising.
