Olympian Tom Daley (21) engaged to long-term boyfriend Dustin Lance Black (41)
Olympic swimmer Tom Daley has announced his engagement to long-term love Dustin Lance Black.
The bronze medallist turned reality star (21) has been dating the Oscar-winning screenwriter (41) for two years and the loved-up pair announced the news in the medium du jour - a notice in The Times.
Following in the footsteps of Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter and Geri Halliwell and Christian Horner; the couple wrote in their announcement: "The engagement is announced between Tom, son of Robert and Debra Daley of Plymouth, and Lance, son of Jeff Bisch of Philadelphia and Anne Bisch of Lake Providence."
Tom met Black in 2013 and later came out in a YouTube video, which has since clocked up nearly 12 million views.
"In spring this year my life changed massively when I met someone, and they make me feel so happy, so safe and everything just feels great. That someone is a guy.," he said in the candid piece to camera.
'I also understand that it is still news. I think we live in a society that is far more accepting than it was five or ten years ago, but we've still got a way to go before people no longer assume you're in a heterosexual relationship.
Family is something that has always been really important to me and yes, at some point I would love to marry and have kids.'
Black is no stranger to fame, having won an Academy Award for Best Screenplay for 2008's Milk, starring Sean Penn.
