Olympian Kenny Egan welcomes first child with fiancee Karen Sullivan

Olympic boxer Kenny Egan has welcomed his first child with fiancee Karen Sullivan into the world.
The 2008 silver medallist announced the good news on Twitter this morning, congratulating his "amazing" partner.
"9lb5 baby Kate welcomed into the world at 5.15am. Well done @Karen__Sullivan. You are amazing," he wrote.
The Fine Gael councillor and new mother Karen got engaged at Christmas - and announced that they were expecting a child several months later.
In March, Karen took to Facebook and Instagram to announce the news.
"Scan done this morning all going good , we are delighted xxx," she wrote.
Following suit on social media, Kenny has kept his 11,500 Twitter followers up to date on mother and baby progress since the birth.

The couple are set to marry next year, moving their original plans to wed this summer.
Trained addiction counselor kenneth won a seat on South Dublin County Council as an elected representative for Fine Gael in June 2014.
