With his professional rugby career about to end and her latest career move still in development, a summer holiday is next on the horizon for Irish golden couple Brian O’Driscoll and Amy Huberman.

But it won’t be a sun-soaked trip to a tropical resort for the star pair as little baby Sadie will have her say on vacation venues.

The family are due to hit LA next month after Leinster and Ireland rugby hero Brian hangs up his boots.

LOCATION

But Cabinteely native Amy told The Herald that choosing a holiday location can be tricky as it is crucial that their one-year-old daughter Sadie is catered for.

“We want somewhere that is not boiling hot and that has stuff Sadie can do,” Amy said. “You sort of stop and go, Oh, we have to think about that’,” she added laughing.

“Not that we would get much of a break to lie on sun loungers anyway and just say to her, You take care of yourself’.”

After an emotional few months celebrating her hubby’s glittering rugby career, Brian is happy to take a back seat while Amy looks at developing TV and writing projects.

Petite Amy (35) is enjoying putting pen to paper again and is currently working on the script for a TV show.

“It’s nice to get back to that because it feels like forever since I’ve done it so I am trying to kick-start that part of my brain,” she said.

“There are a couple of things in development but it all sounds very boring at this stage because it is taking time to get going.“

Amy, who is the face of Newbridge Silverware, stepped out to celebrate the jewellery giant’s 80th birthday with a special brunch.

She was joined at the Kildare venue by her mum and a crowd of 100 people, including former Newbridge ambassador Ronan O’Gara.

Also there were Keith Wood, Gay Byrne, Anne Doyle and Dragons’ Den star Ramona Nicholas.
