Filming on the third series of BBC2's The Fall has begun with notable new names joining the cast.
Swedish actor Krister Henriksson, famed for playing Kurt Wallander in the Swedish version of the TV show, joins existing cast members Gillian Anderson (Superintendent Stella Gibson) and Jamie Dornan (serial killer Paul Spector).
Other newcomers include Aidan McArdle (Mr Selfridge), Ruth Bradley (Humans), Aisling Bea (Trollied) and Richard Coyle (Coupling).
The five-part series is filming in Belfast, and will pick up where season two ended.
Viewers were left wondering as to the fate of Spector, who was lying bloodied and injured in Gibson's arms after finally being captured.
The show's creator, Allan Cubitt, said he was "thrilled to have recently started filming the third instalment of their macabre, obsessive dance of death".
"Gillian and Jamie have lived and breathed those characters during that time and I've been incredibly well-served as both writer and director by their stellar performances," he said, "Obviously I don't want to give anything away about how the third series will end but I can say that I am looking forward to working with both Gillian and Jamie again in the near future!"
Anderson also told the Press Association during an interview in December: " I feel like she's (Stella) quite unique and I still find her mysterious. I still am intrigued by her and want to see what her journey is. So that interests me."
She didn't give away too much but hinted that more would be revealed about her character's background, saying: "There are bits and pieces, little things that are said that reveal a little bit about where she's come from and what her life experience is... what brought her to be where she is today."
So far no transmission date has been announced.
