'My boyfriend doesn't get jealous over lingerie shoots,' says top model Thalia Heffernan

Leading model Thalia Heffernan said her boyfriend of nearly one year thinks lingerie shoots "are more glam than they are."
The 5'10" beauty, who was yesterday modelling for Brown Thomas' Autumn/Winter arrivals to the Lingerie Rooms, is no stranger to posing in her smalls for her work as one of Ireland's most popular catwalk queens.
Thalia has been dating bouncer Andrew McGuinnes for the last 10 months and said that her other half doesn't get jealous when it comes to lingerie photoshoots.
"He's cool with it because it's my career," she told the Herald.
"He finds it more glam than it actually is, because he's not in the industry.
"[Having a boyfriend] makes life easier with this job, because I've a little security," she said.
"It's nice to have the grounding, because you never know what you're up to with this job."
"We're together 10 months. It's new, but we're solid and I'm really happy."
While she has to watch her figure for the cameras, Thalia said her dream is to bake a lot in the future.
"I feel like if I get married I can get fat," she said
"I'd like to be one of those housewives who is always baking and has loads of baked goods everywhere."
She might only be 20 years old, but the Dubliner has been modelling for five years already and said she has become somewhat addicted to tattoos and piercings as something of a rebellion to being "dressed as a mannequin" since her early teens.
"I have weird rebellious phases where I like doing things like getting tattoos and my tongue pierced," she said.
While many would think getting inked is a big no-no in the fashion industry, Thalia said it doesn't affect her getting jobs.
"Some people have a concept that tattoos and piercings are ugly or not necessary," she said.
"But for me they're a very personal thing and I like them.
"They're easy to cover. I can bring them into work but if people don't like them, I can hide them.
"It is a bit of an addiction. I have to keep them small while I'm in this job, and in hidden places.
"Cara Delevingne and countless models have them done as well," she added.
The Morgan the Agency model also feels it's a way of expressing herself.
"It can be difficult in this job to have a personality in yourself," she said.
"Since I was 15 I've been dressed up as a mannequin - changed to look as a certain designer wants for their dream to come true.
"So it's a personal thing to be able to mark myself, in my opinion, in a beautiful way, and to allow myself to be unique," she added.
Thalia was speaking at the Brown Thomas Fit to be Fabulous new season lingerie show.
