Sinead O'Connor has taken to social media to voice her mild displeasure at Rolling Stone magazine's latest choice for its cover.

In an expletive filled post on Facebook  earlier today, the Irish musician (48) questioned why the iconic music publication would place reality TV star Kim Kardashian on its front page.

"What is this c*** doing on the cover of Rolling Stone?," she wrote below a snapshot of the upcoming issue cover featuring Kanye West's 34-year-old wife.

"Music has officially died. Who knew it would be Rolling Stone that murdered it? Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh can no longer be expected to take all the blame. Bob Dylan must be f***ing horrified. #BoycottRollingStone"

A public argument between O'Connor and Miley Cyrus began on the pages of non other than Rolling Stone.

In an interview, the former 'Hannah Montana' actress-turned-pop-superstar referenced O'Connor's 'Nothing Compares 2 U' video as an inspiration for her own 'Wrecking Ball' clip.

An open letter from O'Connor advising Miley to not let the music industry 'make a prostitute out of you' fuelled the fire for an ongoing war of words.

Time will only tell if mum-of-one Kim will respond to this outburst in a similar fashion.
