RTE star Miriam O'Callaghan might be nominated for a top award, but won't be attending the VIP Style Awards.
The red carpet event is hailed as one of the highlights on Ireland's social calendar and she's up for the Most Stylish Woman gong, but Miriam is otherwise engaged on Friday night.
"I’m actually not going because I promised my husband that I’d go to the Leinster/Ulster game with my two eldest boys because BBC Northern Ireland are hosting a big event for it," she told Independent Style. "I am swapping my gown for my jersey and I’ll be supporting Leinster."
The O'Callaghan clan will still be represented at the VIP event, sponsored by Peter Mark, taking place this Friday night at The Marker Hotel.
The Prime Time host's daughters Alannah and Ciara McGurk will be donning their glad rags, as will their cousin.
"My four daughters are going and my niece who is the daughter of my sister who died who I talk about all the time is going," she added,
"Look, I love the VIPs and I’m honoured when I get nominated and I love VIP, and I always read it, but Steve asked me ages ago to go to this BBC event and hey I can’t let Leinster down. He supports Ulster and I don’t know who the boys will support but I’d say they’re Leinster supporters."
As the nomination would suggest, Miriam is considered one of the most stylish women in Ireland and is often inundated with requests about her looks both onscreen and off.
