Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander cosy up on red carpet in rare public appearance
After more than two years together, Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander are slowly adjusting to the spotlight on their relationship.
The Irish actor (39) and the Swedish actress (28) first met while filming The Light Between Oceans in 2014 and celebrated the premiere of the film where they fell in love in London on Wednesday night.
The couple are famously private having only made their red carpet debut at the Venice Film Festival over the summer and looked more as they walked arm in arm at Leicester Square.
Vikander wore her usual - an ethereal floral dress by Louis Vuitton, while Fassbender opted for a classic two-piece navy blue suit.
Just last week, the couple touched down in his native Kerry to receive his hometown's highest order - the Order of Innisfallen - bestowed by Killarney in Co Kerry - in recognition of his remarkable achievements in the film industry.
But they're back on the promotional trail for their heart-wrenching film, based on the book by M.L. Stedman.

Director Derek Cianfance told Vanity Fair their chemistry was palpable from the get-go, saying: “They were an undeniably good match."
And the pair clearly agreed as they soon began their romance off-screen, the actors said it was a natural process and their attraction to one another was immediate.
"It wasn’t the first time in a movie either of us had played somebody who is falling in love. There is an element of separation there. If I’m playing a murderer, I don’t go out and start murdering people," the Oscar nominated actor said.
Vikander echoed his statements, saying: "I think we’ve made a clear statement that we keep certain things just between us. It was very easy to unite, but that’s quite personal."
