After Connacht’s victory over Leinster last weekend, rugby star Craig Ronaldson has been keeping the celebrations going with his long-term girlfriend, Lydia Turley.
The loved-up couple stepped out together this week for a summer party hosted by Swiss luxury brand Rolex.
“I missed out on some of the celebrations last weekend, I came home and said I’d leave the boys to it, but we’re still on a bit of a high down here so it’s great,” Lydia told Independent.ie.
The brunette beauty hasn’t been one to shy away from the spotlight herself, and kicked off her modelling career at age 16. Lydia was crowned Miss Limerick two years later, and has worked with the Holman Lee Agency in Limerick ever since.
The Galway native has stood by the Connacht centre’s side since the couple met in 2014, when she caught Craig's eye at a nightclub.
“We actually met on a night out in Galway, I was out with family after a wedding. We bumped into each other and it kind of went from there,” she recalled fondly.
Two years on, Lydia made the move from Limerick to Galway, where the pair have recently moved in together and adopted a puppy.
“He’s a French bulldog named Tebow, after the NFL player. We’re besotted with him and he’s spoiled rotten.”
While Lydia has taken a break from modelling to work behind-the-scenes at the agency and plan events such as last year's Miss Limerick competition, she said she’d “love to get back into it”.
The celebrations are set to continue as the pair are preparing to jet off to California on Monday.
“We’re heading on holidays to San Francisco and we’re doing the Pacific Coast Highway and ending up in Vegas, it’ll be an adventure!
"It’s the two of us going, we’re renting a car and hitting the open road – we’ll probably kill each other by the end of it,” she said with a laugh.
