Mary-Kate Olsen and Olivier Sarkozy handed out 'bowls and bowls of cigarettes' at secret wedding
It's certainly one of the more memorable celebrity wedding entrees.
Fashion mogul Mary-Kate Olsen (29) wed her boyfriend of three years, Olivier Sarkozy (46) in an unconventional ceremony in New York on Friday - including "bowls of cigarettes" which were passed around to guests during the reception.
The former child star and her banker husband, who is the brother of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy, are both famous smokers, but took things up a notch for their exclusive nuptials over the weekend.
According to the New York Post's Page Six, the non-traditional decor consisted of “bowls and bowls filled with cigarettes, and everyone smoked the whole night.”
The couple wed at a "private residence on 49th Street" in front of 50 guests. Guests were asked to hand in their mobile phones to prevent any pictures leaking.
Olsen and Sarkozy are notoriously private and rarely talk about each other in public. When they started their relationship there were many raised eyebrows as the designer was 26 and Sarkozy 16 years her senior, with Olsen responding to the gossip in an interview with WSJ magazine.
"Everyone has an opinion," she said. "I find it's better to focus on what's in front of you and to keep putting one foot in front of the other."
