The Diary can reveal that the former Leinster star (28) has been spending lots of time with PR intern Aisling Burke (22).

Sportsman Luke posted a photo of them enjoying music festival Longitude over the weekend as they revelled in the sunshine.

He was all smiles as he lined out with the student of Communications at DCU.

Last month, they also attended Forbidden Fruit at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham with a group of pals.

Luke was most recently linked with Sadhbh McMahon, who he took to Barbados in March, but the pair have now split up.

The former Leinster star certainly seems to be making the most of his free summer, following his officially announcing his retirement from international rugby last month.

The decision came as a result of an incident in the Guinness PRO12 final against Connacht in which the Ireland star suffered a neck injury. He was then advised to retire immediately on medical grounds and has indicated that he will go back to studying as he looks towards a new career in business.

At the time of the injury, he said it had been “an amazing journey” as he got to experience the highs and lows that came with international rugby.

“I’m now building on that foundation through completing my business degree,” he said.

“I’m very thankful for the opportunities I have had, the people with whom I’ve worked and the lifelong friends I have made.”

He added that his family were delighted he had decided to call time on lining out as it had taken such a toll on him physically after he had been plagued with injury worries.

Speaking about the reaction from his family, he said that his mother, Andrea, had been getting “fed up” with his being laid low so often, as was his father, Des.

“My family are happy enough for me to call it a day because they have seen the brunt of what a 10-year career can do. I’ve had a lot of injuries,” he said.

As well as clocking up 34 caps for Ireland, he played with distinction with the British and Irish Lions tour in South Africa in 2009.

The popular star previously dated top model Nadia Forde as well as Cheryl O’Rourke, who he was with for two years.
