Lisa Fitzpatrick reveals terrifying allergic reaction: 'My whole body went purple and I couldn't breathe'
Stylist Lisa Fitzpatrick has opened up about a terrifying allergic reaction to penicillin - in which she fainted and "whole body went purple" in the middle of Dundrum Town Centre.
The Ireland AM and Xpose regular explained she had taken antibiotics for bronchitis last week and within 30 minutes, she went to collect her youngest son Dalton from the shopping centre when she collapsed.
"By 9:50am, I found myself on the floor, having fainted and began vomiting. My whole body went purple and I started seeing a rash so I thought it must be meningitis. Then when my chest started to tighten, I was really worried," she told the Irish Daily Mail.
"I couldn't even speak because I couldn't inhale, I really thought I was dying. I thought it was a heart attack."
Thankfully, a doctor passed her and immediately helped, before she was sent to St Vincent's Hospital, where she was diagnosed with an allergy to penicillin.
"When my husband Paul got there he knew the doctor had it under control but he said he'd never seen anything like it and never seen me so scared," she added.
