Liam Neeson says he was 'joking' when he said he was dating 'an incredibly famous woman'
Liam Neeson has backtracked on comments he is dating an "incredibly famous woman", saying he was just "joking" about it.
The 64-year-old Irish actor gave an in-depth interview with the Sunday Independent earlier this week, when he said: "I'd embarrass her if I said her name, she's incredibly famous. I'll have to do my best for her. It's amazing how far a simple bunch of freshly picked flowers will go in a lady's life, I find."
The rumour mill has gone into overdrive guessing who she could be, but a representative for the star shot down the reports, saying: "He was joking with the writer during an interview he was doing with the Irish Independent."
However, the rep did confirm that Liam is in a relationship, but wouldn't divulge with who, only adding that the woman is not "incredibly famous".
Meanwhile, the Ballymena native said he still grieves for his wife Natasha Richardson, who was killed in a skiing accident in Canada.
"Of course the grief is still there. You do your best. I had many little letters, beautiful cards scrawled from people after her death. I still have them and they are very meaningful. It is really touching," he explained.
"In your soul you know that there are people out there caring for you. That means a hell of a lot to me."
