Keira Knightley has revealed after tackling singing in her latest movie, she wants to try something completely different - science fiction.
The British actress became synonymous with period dramas after lead roles in Pride And Prejudice, Dr Zhivago and Anna Karenina, but her new film Begin Again is a modern romantic comedy set in New York, and sees Keira tackling singing on the big screen as a struggling musician.
Now the 29-year-old has confessed she would like to do something completely different next.
She told the Daily Mail: "I love sci-fi, I want to do a sci-fi that is really dark."
Keira is no stranger to science fiction, making her film debut as Sabe in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace.
In Begin Again she plays a songwriter who befriends a washed-up record boss, played by Mark Ruffalo. The comedy also stars James Corden and Adam Levine.
Speaking at a special screening of the film in London, Keira said: "The whole thing's completely out of my comfort zone. It was singing - which I have actually done in a film about seven years ago - but I'm not a singer so I don't know how to do that. And a lot of it was improvised which I've never done on film either. So yes it was quite tricky, but exciting."
Keira insisted she had no ambitions to appear in a full musical in the future.
Meanwhile, James Corden said he had enjoyed working with Maroon 5 star Adam and joked he would be joining the band.
He said: "We're in talks, I think there will be an announcement in the next couple of days. I'm going to join the band and we'll be called Maroon 6, that's what we're doing. But just try and keep it to yourself, because I think he wants to announce it on The Voice."
