'Kimye' Irish honeymoon comes to a dramatic close as couple jet out from Cork Airport
Celebrity couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have brought their Irish honeymoon to a close, jetting out of the country after cutting their trip short.
A private jet carrying the pair and their entourage left Cork Airport at approximately 12.15 this afternoon.
The private jet - a Brazilian-built Embraer - had landed at the airport shortly after 10am this morning, and a dark limousine arrived at the airport shortly after 11am.
However, amid very tight security there were no confirmed sightings of the celebrity couple amid tight security as airport police kept fans, photographers and reporters some distance away from the embarkation area.
It is understood that Kim and Kanye were brought to a private holding area while the jet was brought to the front of the old terminal. A Mercedes mini van then brought the pair to the bottom of the steps of the jet, with a separate car ensuring that awaiting photographers had no direct line of vision.
Approximately 15 minutes after they boarded, the plane took off.
Independent.ie understands that the couple decided to cut short their Irish honeymoon by 48 hours after a last-minute decision to attend a social event abroad. It is understood that the flight plan indicates that the jet is destined for Prague, but the decision to leave early meant that Dublin was cut from Kim and Kanye's honeymoon schedule.
The pair were accompanied by four bodyguards and personal assistants during their five day holiday in Ireland.
They arrived at Cork Airport at 3pm last Sunday, just 24 hours after they wed at a lavish ceremony in a 15th century castle outside Florence in Italy.
During their five-day Irish break, they managed to evade the media while enjoying luxury accommodation in Cork, Limerick and Laois. They took on a range of activities including sight-seeing and mountain biking.
