Kian Egan on preparing to be a father for the third time: 'If it's another boy, maybe we'll just have to go again'
They have been regulars on many a red carpet over the years, but Kian Egan has admitted that he and wife Jodi Albert prefer the quiet life these days as they prepare to welcome their third child.
The couple live in Co Sligo with their two sons, five-year-old Koa and Zekey (two). Jodi owns a clothing store there called Jodi's Boutique.
"Jodi is doing great, she's doing fantastic," said Kian. "She's loving life there as well. It's obviously a bit of a different life for both of us, really, in the last few years.
"We've quietened down an awful lot. We're not doing as much. We're living a quiet enough family life."
The former Hollyoaks actress announced on Instagram that she was pregnant with the couple's third child.
Sharing a photo of herself reading a book called Your Pregnancy Bible, she captioned it: "Looks like I might be needing this again. Baby No 3."
The couple's followers were quick to send their good wishes, with Jodi receiving hundreds of messages.
Former Westlife star Kian revealed it's been an "exciting" few weeks in the household.
"We're still about four months away, but it's all been going really well and it's an exciting time in the house," he said.
"Having a third baby, we kind of know what to expect unless we get some sort of a wobbler thrown at us.
"It's very exciting. You just want a healthy, happy baby. That's all that matters to us.
"We're just sitting back and relaxing and trying to make Jodi's pregnancy as easy as we possibly can."
Little Koa is very excited about welcoming his new sibling, and Kian reckons toddler Zekey also has a good idea of what's going on.
"Koa is very much aware. He knew when the second boy was coming. He's super excited. Zekey isn't too aware - he knows there's something in mummy's tummy and we're all putting our ears up to it," said Kian.
While the couple aren't too bothered about having a boy or a girl, Kian admitted that if they do have another son they may have to go for baby number four.
"I don't think we're really bothered. If we have another boy, amazing, if we have a girl, amazing. If it's another boy, maybe we will just have to go again."
Jodi and Kian first met in 1999 when they were introduced by Simon Cowell at a music festival.
Originally from London, Jodi recently admitted she hasn't missed the hustle and bustle of city life since she and Kian settled down in the countryside.
"It's nice living in one place and settling down," she said.
"It's nice for the kids because Koa has friends and it's not fair to be dragging him all over the place."
