Kathryn Thomas revealed that she struggled to "act like a normal human being" when she bumped into Matt Le Blanc in Kerry.
Despite regularly rubbing shoulders with famous people, the Carlow-native admitted that she still gets starstruck sometimes.
"Generally I do OK but when it comes to meeting someone like Joey from Friends - who I've had a slight infatuation with since the age of 16 - all sensibilities go out the window.
"Especially when he turned up in the least likely of places," she said in her column for The Star.
The former Friends star was in Kerry last weekend shooting the new series of car show Top Gear, which is due to hit TV screens next month.
In a happy coincidence, Voice of Ireland presenter Kathryn was also in Kerry, and couldn't hide her delight when she bumped into him while on a shopping trip in Kenmare.
"So there I was, minding my own business in Kenmare, County Kerry, doing some shopping for my Pure Results Bootcamp, when who drives down the Main Street, only the gorgeous Matt Le Blanc - in an open top shiny blue Rolls Royce!"
She continued: "I thought the crowd had gathered because it was a particularly sunny day but word had spread that Matt was on his way from Dingle.

"So he pulled up outside my favourite pub in Kenmare, Florry Batt's, and popped in to take a breather and have time out from the crowd before they started filming.
"Realising I had to act quickly - brazen as you like - I skipped in the door after him as if I was just part of the crew!".
The RTE presenter said that Matt was happy to chat to fans and politely posed for a few pictures.
However, she struggled to maintain a cool composure when speaking to the Hollywood star.
"Cue heart palpitations, giggling like an imbecile and an inability to construct a sentence - let alone deliver one," she said.
"God love him though, he was very patient with all of his fans, although you could tell he just wanted a bit of peace and quiet."
Kathryn respected his wishes and left after five minutes.
"It was lovely to meet him - and I have to admit, he is even more gorgeous in the flesh than on television.
He's aged beautifully - like a fine wine."
