Jeremy Kyle splits with wife Carla after 13 years of a 'generally happy' marriage
TV star Jeremy Kyle has split with wife after 13 years of marriage.
The host of the eponymous ITV daytime chat show and Carla Germaine (40), a model, have announced their break-up, with Jeremy (50) describing their union a "generally happy" for more than a decade.
"After 13 years of a generally happy marriage, my wife and I, Carla, have separated amicably.
"We have sadly grown apart over recent years and been living apart since earlier this summer."
In June, Kyle said on his show that he had not had sex "in ages" when confronting a cheating spouse.
The guest said: "'Listen, I get sex from [my boyfriend] whenever I want. I don't need to go and get sex from someone else."
Jeremy retorted: "Tell him then! I've had enough talking about it. I haven't had sex for ages myself."
The couple wed in 2002 and have three children together Henry, Alice and Ava.
Jeremy was previously married to Kirsty Rowley for one year and split in 1990. They have one daughter Harriet (25).
He was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2012 and credited the support of his wife for getting him through it, before being given the all clear in 2013.
He previously joked about his marriage by saying that "Mrs Kyle is in charge" of their home.
"When I go home, let's be honest, I don't wear the trousers," he said.
"There isn't a man in the United Kingdom who's married who's telling the truth who says that his wife isn't in charge.
"You've met Mrs Kyle. Mrs Kyle is in charge."
Kyle's separation is the latest in a long list of celebrity splits over the summer.
