James Franco launches acting school
James Franco is to pass on his top tips to aspiring actors, as he opens an acting school.
The 35-year-old actor and filmmaker has teamed up with Playhouse West to launch Studio 4 at the Sherry Theatre in Los Angeles, reported Deadline.
The star of Pineapple Express, 127 Hours and the Spider-Man films will run two classes a week on the Sanford Meisner technique as well as advanced classes and projects following his creative visions. He will be joined by additional guest teachers.
James - who has taught classes in filmmaking, movie production and screenwriting at New York University, University of Southern California and University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) - will also create potential roles for talented students through his production company Rabbit Bandini Productions.
In the past, James, a PhD student in English at Yale University, has used his celebrity connections to get actors such as Seth MacFarlane, Kate Mara, Natalie Portman, Kristen Wiig and Olivia Wilde to star in some of his students' film projects.
