Talk show host James Corden has told people mocking Kim Kardashian after she was held at gunpoint to "be nice or shut up".
The 35-year-old reality star was confronted by two men dressed as police officers in her hotel room in Paris, France, at some time between 3 and 4am Central European Time (CET) on Monday.
"Kim Kardashian West was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room this evening, by two armed masked men dressed as police officers," a spokesperson for the star said in a statement. "She is badly shaken but physically unharmed."
A police source later told news outlet Reuters that "millions of dollars worth of jewellery" had been stolen from Kim in the incident, adding that while initial reports suggested it was just two men, later claims indicate there may have been five gunmen involved.
Following news of the robbery, many Twitter users took to their social media accounts to reflect on the incident, with cruel comments including one which read: "Did she get shot? No? Too bad."

But The Late Late Show host James was quick to jump to the defence of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians beauty, writing on his own Twitter page: "People making jokes about @KimKardashian tonight would do well to remember that she's a mother, a daughter, a wife, a friend. Be nice or shut up."
The 38-year-old wasn't the only famous face to back Kim after the shocking situation.
Model-turned-author Chrissy Teigen, who is a close friend of Kim's, also slammed those trolling her pal, tweeting: "Fame is interesting. Celebs are supposed to love you guys while also knowing you'd make a meme of our dead bodies to get retweets."
Kim's husband Kanye West had earlier sparked concern when he abruptly ended his set at the inaugural Meadows Festival in New York on Sunday night just an hour in, telling the crowd he had to leave immediately.
In the middle of performing his song Heartless, West told the audience, "I'm sorry. Family emergency. I have to stop the show."
Kim is in Paris alongside her sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, and mother Kris Jenner. Kourtney and Kendall are staying at The Peninsula Hotel in Paris. Kim's children, three-year-old North and nine-month-old Saint, are not believed to have been involved in the incident, according to People.
