'I've never been more proud of him', Bruce Jenner's mother confirms he is transitioning into a woman
Bruce Jenner's mother has confirmed he is transitioning into a woman.
A family source confirmed over the weekend that Jenner (65) will transition from living as a male to a female and today, his mother Esther confirmed the reports.
"I just learned about [his transition]," she told Radar Online.
"Bruce filled me in, and we had a very long, long, long talk about it. I have never been more proud of Bruce for who he is, himself as a father, as an Olympian, a wonderful public speaker. He instills enthusiasm in people. He's gifted."
"I support him whole-heartedly. I just love him like I always have."
The reality tv star will reportedly discuss his transition with veteran broadcaster Diane Sawyer.
"Diane has always been very supportive of the LGBT community," an ABC News insider told Us Weekly. "She has been honored by GLAAD."
People Magazine reported on Saturday that the reality star now wants to live his life as a female, quoting a close family source.
"Bruce is transitioning to a woman," the Kardashian insider told the publication. "He is finally happy and his family is accepting of what he's doing. He's in such a great space. That's why it's the perfect time to do something like this."
He has six children from three different marriages - Kendall (19) and Kylie (17) with Kris Jenner; Brandon (33) and Brody (31) with Linda Thompson; Cassandra (34) and Burt (36) with Chrystie Crownover.
His family have largely avoided commenting on the rumours in recent months, however step-daughter Kim Kardashian revealed last week that he is on a "journey".
"I think everyone goes through things in life, and I think that story and what Bruce is going through, I think he'll share whenever the time is right. I feel like that's his journey to talk about."
