'It's inappropriate to ask me when I'm having babies,' says newlywed model Sarah Morrissey
She’s just celebrated her first wedding anniversary with her husband Pat Jennings and model Sarah Morrissey says she gets annoyed at the “baby question”.
The 31-year-old is one of Ireland’s busiest models and has started a course in fitness nutrition and sports science at DCU so children are a long way off.
“People ask me the baby question all the time,” she told the Herald. “It’s a big thing now. I was reading about John Legend’s wife Chrissy Teigen and she gets really upset being asked the question.
“I can understand that because I think it is really inappropriate to ask people. But I can understand why people want to know as well. I do want kids and hopefully we will one day, but not right now.”
“We have to take our jobs into account, so maybe in a few years. We’re too busy at the moment, so we’ll see,” she added.
The former Miss Ireland has been a stalwart on the Irish fashion scene for a decade but said there isn’t the same pressure on models here as abroad.
“We don’t get weighed or measured or anything like other agencies do abroad,” she said. “Saying that, I get sample sizes [for fashion shoots] and we still have to fit into them. But we don’t have the pressure models [abroad] do.”
The Liberties beauty said she doesn’t worry about her size any more as she works out every day and has a strict diet. Sarah was speaking at the announcement that 82pc of Irish people prefer healthy holidays, according to VisitScotland.
