It all started when 41-year-old Ryan agreed to be a guest on Midday, which is hosted by Elaine.

Cork native Elaine (37) has also featured on two RTE shows with Tubridy in recent months. Last year, she bravely spoke to Ryan about her battle with mental illness and low self esteem.

“It’s pretty out in the open with Elaine appearing on Ryan’s RTE shows in the last while,” an eagle-eyed source told The Irish Sun.

“I wouldn't be surprised if a proper date is the next step,” they added.

However, Elaine is very private when it comes to her personal life, and has previously stated to RSVP magazine that she will never talk about her love life.

“The first time anyone will know if I’m in a serious relationship, I’ll be coming back from Las Vegas married,” she once joked.

Commenting on Danny O'Donoghue's revelation that he couldn't even get a date on Tinder, he was discussing how difficult it must be for women to have the courage to approach The Script frontman.
