Reality TV star Jeremy McConnell has denied assaulting girlfriend Stephanie Davis.

The Celebrity Big Brother contestant pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal damage when he appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, but denied a charge of assault by beating.

The 27-year-old is accused of assaulting former Hollyoaks actress Davis during an incident at a property in Rainhill, Merseyside, on March 10.

McConnell, of Swords, Dublin, admitted damaging property under the value of £5,000 belonging to Davis.
