Irish reality star Jeremy McConnell arrested in connection with assault of ex-girlfriend Stephanie Davis
Irish reality tv star Jeremy McConnell has been arrested in connection with allegations of an assault against his ex-girlfriend Stephanie Davis.
The Dubliner (27), who met the actress and singer while they were both in the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2016, had been in Ireland mourning after his father and aunt died within a few days of one another earlier this month.
The incident is alleged to have taken place last week in Davis' home in Liverpool and McConnell will be quizzed by police today in Merseyside.
"Following a report of an assault at an address in (Liverpool), a man has this morning been arrested," a police spoksperson confirmed today.
"A 27-year-old man from Liverpool city centre has been arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage after voluntarily attending a police station on Merseyside.
"He remains in police custody for questioning."
It's believed he flew over to the UK to assist police in their inquiry. McConnell, who rose to prominence on MTV's Beauty School Cop Out, after moving there last month to be closer to Davis and their two-month-old son Caben-Albi.
The couple split last year and after undergoing a DNA test confirming the baby's paternity, Jeremy said he would be there for his son.
